Scottish MPs have formally raised concerns about Rockstar Games' Edinburgh studio following reports of union organizing efforts being disrupted. The legal battle is heating up.
A group of SNP and Labour MPs sent a letter to the UK Secretary of State for Business this week, urging an investigation into Rockstar North's handling of union formation attempts at its Edinburgh headquarters.
The letter cites testimony from three current employees who claim they faced 'informal pressure' from management after joining an organizing committee linked to the IWGB games workers union.
Rockstar has denied any wrongdoing, issuing a statement saying: 'We are committed to a fair and respectful workplace for all our employees. We do not comment on internal personnel matters.'
This is the second time Rockstar has faced UK parliamentary scrutiny in two years. A 2024 report by the same MPs called out the studio's 'crunch culture' during GTA 6's development. With GTA 6's launch approaching, the timing adds a complicated layer to Rockstar's public profile.
